SPD & My First Giveaway!

Today is a good day!

Tomorrow is Friday.

This week, I decided to make a burlap pearl wreath.

I knew right away that I wanted it.

It didn't look too difficult, so I went to Hobby Lobby & picked up the supplies.

Let me give y'all a little advice... & you probably already know this, but just in case you don't...

Always check to see if the link leads to instructions!

I was super excited to get working on this & then when I sat down to do it there were no instructions, just a link to an etsy page.

So... I winged it.

It wasn't easy.

& it wasn't quick.

BUT

It did turn out pretty darn good if I do say so myself!

Here's what I used to make it:

(the fabric isn't pictured, sorry)

wreath

burlap

fabric

pearls

twine

hot glue gun

hot glue

scissors

WINE

As far as instructions go...

First I wrapped the twine around the right side of the wreath.

Next I started cutting the burlap and trying to form similar shapes as in the original.

I glued all of the burlap pieces after I had them formed.

Then I started cutting the fabric and tried to form similar shapes as well.

I glued all of the fabric shapes into place.

Then, I added the pearls where they needed to go, wrapped some twine around the top & hung it up!

Voila!

That Time My Boyfriend Bought Me a Nikon D5100...

Hey y'all!

I don't know about you... but I am thrilled that it's Tuesday... for two reasons.

One- that means it's not Monday anymore!

& Two- that means we're one day closer to the weekend! ;]

Now, on to the good stuff.

Last night, my boyfriend told me he wanted to take me somewhere. 

I didn't know where we were going, I didn't have to get dressed up or anything so I honestly had no idea...

We ended up at best buy & he said he wanted to give me my anniversary present early so I would have time to play with it before our actual anniversary (which is on Saturday).

Y'all.

I. GOT. A. CAMERA.

A REAL CAMERA!

The Nikon D5100 to be exact!

I was debating between the Nikon D5100 & the Canon Rebel t3i but after reading numerous reviews/facts/youtube videos/etc. I decided to go with the Nikon.

I'm sooooooo excited to learn how to use it & to actually have some high quality photos!

I've wanted a NICE camera for years now, but once I started my blog I knew I just HAD to have one.

I'll be overloading y'all with pictures from now on.

Sorry I'm not sorry! ;]

Except for the fact that I've had Jason Aldean on repeat for the past two days.

I've loved him for years and years now & I just can't get enough.

Anyways.

About these past few days..

I did a whole lot of nothing and let me just say... it was AMAZING!

Friday night Darren & I went to see Broken City.

I'd give it a 4 out of 5. I love Mark Wahlberg :]

 Saturday we went to the outlet mall by us & Darren bought me a dress to wear on our anniversary.
It's precious & I love love love it!
It's from Francesca's but I couldn't find it on their website so y'all will just have to wait to see it ;]

Yesterday I did a little shopping & then we went to my momma's house for dinner & to spend some time with the family!

Have y'all seen Pitch Perfect? If you haven't GO SEE IT NOW! I'm serious. It's so good. We've seen it six times now & I loooooove it.
Anyways, there's a scene in the movie where Beca sings a song & creates a beat with a cup & my 13 year old sister learned it  & taught it to me... It's pretty neat.

I love weekends like this.
Where we have NO plans & we can just relax.
It was beyond amazing!

Everyone I know is off of work/school today except me.

Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. [Inspiration Board]

Hey y'all.

I've been kinda slacking when it comes to the blog lately.

Luckily I made it back just in time to link-up with my two favorite ladies, Katie & Steph for Saw it. Pinned it. Did it.

This week I made an inspiration board.

The second I saw this pin I knew I had to make it.

So last weekend I went out & bought the supplies & got to work!

What you'll need:

a cork board, size of your choice [mine was 24 x 36]

fabric of your choice [I bought a yard & a half & had a little left over]

staple gun

staples

iron

things to put on your board

What you do:

one: place your fabric over the cork board & cut it to size, leaving a little overlapping on all sides.

two: iron out any creases

three: staple the fabric to the back of the cork board [or have your wonderful boyfriend/fiance/husband do it for you ;]]

four: decorate your inspiration board with anything that inspires you! :]

I LOVE THIS Y'ALL!

Now I just need to find the perfect place to put it & I'll be all set.

OHP & Painting with a twist!

Normally I like Wednesdays...

This week, not so much.

I had the day off yesterday & have to go back to work today :(

Oh well, I guess I should be grateful that I at least got yesterday off when there were millions of people who had to work.

 

Anywho.

On to the good stuff.

Last night I went to Painting with a Twist with my mom.

It was one of my Christmas gifts & I LOVED IT!

If you don’t know what it is, it’s a painting class where you BYOW.

I brought a bottle of moscato courtesy of my wonderful momma.

The painting that was featured last night was an Eiffel tower,

Which was BEYOND perfect & near & dear to my heart.

My grandma passed away in July of 2009 & she was from France so anything to do with France always reminds us of her.

My mom thought it would be special if we could go to this class together & have a piece of my grandma to take home with us.

Great idea mom! I loved it & I love my painting.

Missing you always grandma petie! <3 o:p="o:p">
