Weekend Update!

Friday night I went to see, "Mud" with a few of my friends. I had never even seen a preview for it when my friend invited me, but she said Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon were in it so I went & I'm glad I did...

 It was a good movie!

Saturday Darren & I had to finish moving all of our extra stuff to storage which took us a good four hours... Ugh! Then we got to relax a little. We had Becks Prime for dinner & headed to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the UFC fights & have a few beers. We ended the night watching Avatar!

Sunday we did a little cleaning & then took my little brother to go see the new Star Trek. We LOVED it! Seriously, sooooo good. After the movie we dropped my brother off, visited with my mom a bit then headed to Which Wich for dinner. YUM! We ended the night with some wine & watched Lawless! 

It was nice, not too busy weekend!!

Cake Mix Cookie Bars [recipe]

Y'all.

These things are SO easy & SO yummy!!

I saw this pin & knew I found my taste of tuesday recipe for this week.

They're so soft & melt in your mouth, perfectly paired with a glass of milk :)

Ingredients:

1 Box Yellow Cake Mix

1 Box Instant Vanilla Pudding

1/4 Cup water

3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil

2 Eggs

1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips

1/2 Cup M&M's

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350* & Mix together all ingredients.

2. Grease a 9 x 13 pan & smooth out the mixture.

3. Bake for 20 minutes.

4. Cut into squares & enjoy! :)

Weekend Update! [Wagon Wheel, Wrinkles & a Special Mother's Day]

Friday night Darren & I went to Ikea to pick out a desk... I'm in love with it! We're putting it together tomorrow so you better believe I'll be sharing pictures once it's all decorated & happy, ha! After Ikea we met up with some friends of ours to go see The Great Gatsby. I never had to read the book for school so I didn't really know the storyline (other than what I saw in the previews). With that being said, I absolutely loved it! 

Saturday we spent moving & painting. My mom, brother & sister came over to help us paint & we had fun goofing around like we always do. Darren & I went out to dinner at Hooters that night & they ran out of ranch! How the heck does a WING restaurant run out of ranch?! Needless to say we weren't too happy, ha.

Sunday was spent with my momma! I love her so much & she is one of my very best friends in the world. My grandma passed away almost four years ago so Mother's Day is always hard for us, but especially for my mom. This year I gave my mom a few gifts, but my favorite (and hers) was a keychain with a penny on it. The penny was from 1944, the year my grandma was born & the word "lucky" was stamped on it. I also added an eiffel tower charm to the keychain because my grandma was from France. I'm glad I was able to give my mom a gift with meaning this year instead of just candles or clothes like I usually do. I know it meant the world to her. My grandma may not physically be here with us, but she is watching over us & I know she was smiling yesterday!

Mini Meatloaves + My new blog design reveal!!

  Ma! The meatloaf!

Sorry, couldn't help myself! ha

I love meatloaf. 

I don't make it very often, but when I do you better believe we never have any leftovers!

Here's my version of mini meatloaves!

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1 lb ground beef

2 eggs

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp italian seasoning

1 small can tomato sauce

salt & pepper

ketchup (after it bakes)

Directions:

one- mix together all ingredients 

two- grease your muffin tins & place a spoonful in each tin

three- bake at 350* F for 35 minutes

four- serve & enjoy :)

Happy Monday Ladies!

Hope y'all had a wonderful Cinco de Drinko weekend ;)

Friday night Darren & I decided to stay in. I cooked some dinner & we stayed up watching our Houston Rockets play.. they lost, but we had one hell of a season! After the game we watched, "Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter." ...it was okay. It started out pretty slow, it got a little better but not much.

**Sidenote: Friday I told Darren I want to go on a "real" picnic, with a picnic basket & all. Do you know what his response was?? "Kristen... do you have any idea how many ants there are in the world?!?" Looks like we won't be going on a picnic anytime soon... haha!

Saturday we had some errands to run. We went to Garden Ridge to pick out a new rug.. love it! Then we stopped at a local mexican restaurant for some drinks & chips & queso in honor of Cinco de Mayo weekend. Later that night we met up with some friends of ours & went to Saltgrass for dinner (YUMMM) & then headed to the outlet malls to do a little shopping. We went home & passed out EARLY that night & I've gotta say.. it was nice!!

Sunday we woke up early, I made some breakfast, then we headed to the store to pick up the Sunday paper. (BTW: I typed up my "couponing tutorial" post & it will be going up Wednesday morning!!) After that I headed to my mom's house to spend some time with my family while Darren played tennis with his friend. I met up with them for dinner & then did some meal planning for the week & we went grocery shopping. We came home & hung out with Wrinkles & played fetch for quite some time. (He loves running after the ball & bringing it back, but he DOES NOT like dropping the ball for us! ha)
