Weekend Update + The Cutest Koozie You Ever Did See!

Well hey there! 

Is it really Monday again? I miss the weekend already. It was so stinkin' hot this weekend & it's only gonna get hotter. Oh the joys of Texas! ha

Friday I checked the mail & got the cutest little koozie in the world! (via) I had to put it to good use so we went to a bar called Bareback's with Darren's best friend, Matt & Matt's mom & stepdad came too. Oh em gee y'all. Matt's mom is the funnest person to be around, she's hilarious! We, well really everyone but me, had crawfish. We all drank way too many beers & played cornhole! It was so much fun. We decided it needs to be a routine Friday night thing!

Saturday morning Wrinkles insisted on sending a picture to Axel for his birthday... haha ;). Then Darren & I went shopping for my little sister's birthday presents. (She turns 14 today!) After shopping we went to see, Now You See Me. I FREAKING LOVED IT! No joke, that movie was the shiz. After that we headed home, watched some HGTV & I made some BBQ sliders & mac n cheese for dinner. Yum! Oh, and I bought tickets to A Day in the Country to see Eli Young Band, Lee Brice & Easton Corbin + more!! :)

Sunday was a really chill day. I literally didn't even put on make-up all day. Ew, I know. Hence the edited picture below ha! We took Wrinky on a walk up to our neighborhood park & he had SO MUCH FUN! He got to go down a slide for the first time & swing for the first time. For the record, he loves sitting in the swing, NOT swinging in the swing! Lesson learned!

PS- My mom is officially convinced Darren & I are both completely crazy because of the things we do with Wrinkles. This is the text I got last night after she saw the picture of Wrinkles in a swing on Instagram:

one- I get to see "Now You See Me" today. Can't freaking wait. I've been wanting to see this movie since the first time I saw the trailer! Haven't seen it? Here you go ;)

two- I love having soft, smooth lips. With that being said, I'm in search of the perfect chapstick! Any suggestions?! I've tried TONS & can't find the perfect one. Help a girl out, will ya?

three- I love free fonts. Seriously, I'm obsessed. I search Pinterest all the time for the best free fonts.. they're all so dang pretty! Here are a few I use all the time! (If you want the links to any or all of them, let me know!)

four- I got the Clarisonic Mia 2 as a birthday gift this past weekend & my skin already looks/feels better! It's nuts! It's only been a few days & I swear I can see a difference y'all! 

five- I'm writing my goals for June & I'm happy, happy, happyyyy because I have EVERY intention of reaching every single goal! YAY for positivity! Maybe I'm so positive because it's the freakin' weekend!

SPD [Easy Acrylic Tray Tutorial]

A while back, Katie did a tutorial for a $5 acrylic tray. I've pinned a TON of them on Pinterest & I've been wanting to make one FOREVER so I finally did!

My inspiration came from here, here & here!

I present to you, the easiest DIY ever!

You'll need...

+an 8x10 Acrylic shadow box

+your choice of cardstock [I chose sparkly, gold]

+scissors

**NOT PICTURED**

+double sided tape

I ended up using this to secure the cardstock to the tray because it was curling up at the edges a bit!

What you do...

one- cut your cardstock to fit your frame

two- place double sided tape on the back of your cardstock

three- secure to tray

four- decorate!

Weekend Update! [a birthday, the beach & lots of drinks!]

Friday we went to lunch & I had my first watermelon margarita of the summer! YUM! Then we went & saw Fast & Furious 6... It was sooo good!!

Saturday I got up early & went to get my hair done. They took 2.5 inches off, which doesn't sound like a lot but let me tell you.... my hair looks SHORT compared to what it was! & I got blonde highlights.. I'm in the process of becoming blonde again! When I got home, Darren had flowers, a card & a cookie cake waiting for me! :)

Saturday night we went to dinner at the Melting Pot & then headed to Howl at the Moon to do a little pre-birthday celebrating! The Melting Pot was so yummy.. I'm trying to convince Darren that we need to buy a fondue set at home! & Howl at the Moon was fun like always!!

Sunday we went to brunch with my mom at Pappasitos & had some 99cent mimosas... YUM! Then Darren & I headed over to our friends, Shelby & Dustin's place.

We packed all of our coolers full of stuff to BBQ & plenty of alcoholic drinks, swimsuits, sunglasses, a kite & much more into the trunk of Shelby's car & headed out to High Island. I LOVED it out there, it was so quiet & peaceful! 

tons & tons of corn - us riding around in a golf cart with Dustin's little sister (it looks like we're on a roller coaster ride lol) - a pretty horsey down the road

After a few hours of trying to get the jet skis to work, we gave up & headed to the beach without them. The water was actually warm & we had SO MUCH FUN! We ended the night with some margaritas, hamburgers & chips & guac! Not a bad birthday if I do say so myself! ;)

Yesterday we did some cleaning & laundry, Darren played tennis & we took a nap. Then we headed over to my mom's house & she BBQ'd. Umm... BBQ two days in a row?? It MUST be summer!!

I got my Texas ring!! - wrinkles being a cutie - SO excited to get the Mia 2! :)

Nobody Likes You When You're 23

Not only is it Memorial Day weekend, but it's also my birthday weekend!!

Dear Liver, I'm sorry in advance for the amount of alcohol I plan to consume this weekend.. but it IS my birthday weekend & it IS Memorial Day weekend after all. Dear Darren, thanks for being so sweet & giving me a gift & a birthday dress a few days early... I love you! Dear Lake, Jet Skis, BBQ & Drinks, we're headed your way come Sunday. Dear Kayla, I hope your wedding weekend is everything you ever dreamed it would be plus more! Can't wait to hear all about the festivities on yours & Erin's blogs!! Dear Me, prepare to be TWENTY-THREE come Sunday!!! :)
